Useful advice for hypertension

  • Drink daily 7 – 8 glasses of water. When you don’t drink enough water this makes your cells dry out. Your body tries to solve this water deficiency problem by taking water from the blood. This is thickens your blood and send your pressure up.
  • Daily meditation for 10 – 15 minutes can help lower blood pressure.
  • You can lower your blood pressure and your blood lipid’s levels with no change in diet but simply by walking 30 – 45 minutes daily.
  • Marjoram (Origanum marjorana) oil massage is helpful for hypertension. This oil helps not only open up blood vessels, but also may help keeps them open.
  • Stop smoking.
  • Control your alcohol consumption.
  • Try to eliminate caffeine.
  • Try to avoid stress or anxiety-provoking situations.
  • Try to avoid aged cheeses, aged meats, chocolate, and sour cream.
  • Don’t use the regular salt. Instead use sea salt. It is not a sodium intake aggravates high blood pressure. It is excess of sodium in relation to potassium. Sea salt contains the proper balance of sodium and potassium.
  • Increase your dietary fiber intake.
  • Try to use in very limited quantities the dairy products, meats, salt, and fried foods.
  • Consume more tuna and trout. They may normalize elevated blood pressure, prevent the formation of dangerous blood clots, reduce high cholesterol levels, and noticeably reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
  • It is useful to consume gooseberries when you have high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis.
  • Warm water bath (temperature between 92 and 98 degree by Fahrenheit) lower blood pressure.
  • It is interesting to know that pet owners consistently have lower blood pressure levels, lower cholesterol, and lower triglycerides, than non-pet owners. Among the pets, dogs and cats offer the most stress-buffering effects.
