Why cholesterol is critical
High blood cholesterol sets the stage for a host of debilitating health conditions including:
- heart attacks
- strokes
- arteriosclerosis
- high blood pressure
- cancer
Also, cholesterol build-up can bring such complications as psoriasis, eczema, gallstones, certain types of arthritis, nervousness and other serious chronic sicknesses. In addition, people with elevated cholesterol are at greater risk of developing macular degeneration than people with normal levels of cholesterol because high levels of cholesterol cause clogged arteries, which can impair the flow of blood to the eyes.
Cholesterol first collects around the heart. Then it accumulates in the veins and arteries.
Remember, the less sludge in your arteries, the longer is your lifeline.
